SolTerra is a Pacific Northwest real estate developer that designs, builds and develops sustainable, community-oriented buildings in Seattle, Portland and Bend. Each project starts with a story drawn from nature and uses living walls, green roofs and integrated solar.

SolTerra develops in Seattle, Washington; Portland, Oregon; and, with Cascada Bend, Bend, Oregon. It has offices at 2909 1st Ave S in Seattle and 959 SE Division St in Portland.

Apartment buildings, office and industrial office space, street-level retail, and the Cascada thermal springs and hotels. Completed projects include Woodlawn, Brooklyn Yard, Cove, The SolTerra Building, LakeView, Solis, Bezel and Cascada.

Most SolTerra projects are LEED Platinum or better. Every project has a green roof, and the buildings use living walls, building-integrated solar, low-toxicity materials and features such as rainwater and greywater cisterns. Solis was designed for Passive House certification.

VeraWall is the living-wall system Brian Heather began patenting in 2009 and SolTerra uses on its projects. It uses non-woven geosynthetic fibers to carry water and nutrients to plant roots, with a small amount of soil, emulating how plants grow on vertical surfaces in nature.

Cascada is a wellness hotel and thermal springs developed by SolTerra. The Portland location in the Alberta Arts District was completed in Q1 2025 with 100 hotel rooms, a 38,000 sf thermal spa, Terra Mae and Forbidden Fruit restaurants and Alberta Street Coffee. Cascada Bend is under construction in downtown Bend and opens in 2028.
