Slate

About Slate

In brief: A concept inspired by layers of rock in the earth's crust, with cantilevered floors, a brick façade and a rooftop saltwater pool and green roof.

Inspired by the layers of rock found in the earth's crust, the design is brought to life with the stratification of slightly cantilevered floors that break away from the surrounding brick façade. The community is brought together on the roof with a natural saltwater pool and green roof that represents the first layer of greenery above the rocky layers below. The project blends historic elements, from iron railings to brick, with modern innovative elements that represent a neighborhood rich in culture and history that is bursting with new, modern endeavors.
